Sr. Mirjam (pronounced Miriam) is originally from the Netherlands. She is a member of The Spiritual Family The Work, also referred to as The Work of Christ, (Familia Spiritualis Opus - FSO), a Family of Consecrated Life of Pontifical Right, which was founded by Mother Julia Verhaeghe in 1938.
Sr. Mirjam was sent to New York in 2004 to work for the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations, and subsequently joined the staff at Holy Family Church. She has a broad experience in religious education and religious program development.
Sr. Mirjamâs foreign language abilities (Dutch, German and French) help the parish to meet the needs of the international congregation that comes to the Church of the Holy Family.
