Father Messier was born on 14 April, 1932. He was ordained on 22 March 1958 in Montlhéry, France.
He is an Augustinian of the Assumption, an order which was founded by Fr. Emmanuel d’Alzon, and whose mission is primarily education. He instilled in his followers what he called “Les Trois Amours” (the Three Loves) - Love of Jesus, Love of Mary and Love of the Church.
Fr. Messier was teacher of French from 1960 at Assumption Prep School, Assumption College and Graduate School in Worcester, MA.
In 1990 he was appointed as a chaplain of the Allen Pavilion in Inwood and then a chaplain at the Village Nursing Home. He was a resident of St.Vincent De Paul Church. Fr. Murray, the Pastor there, invited him to follow him in his new parish, Holy Family Church, where he has been since January, 2013.
