Father Joseph T. Chacko, Parochial Vicar, joined the staff of Holy Family in May 2011.
He was born in India, in the state of Kerala, into a Syrian Catholic family in 1952 and ordained to the priesthood on the Feast of St. Joseph, March 19, 1984.
Fr. Chacko was deeply influenced by his uncle, Bishop Jacob Vadakeveetil, a missionary in North India and the Apostolic Administrator of Balasore, Orissa. Among his duties here at Holy Family will be the celebration of Sunday and weekday Mass, RCIA, and the hope of starting a new ministry to young adult Catholics. Prized moments during his period of formation are his days of working with Mother Teresa and her Sisters in Calcutta—an experience that has enriched his priesthood.
Fr. Chacko has been in the United States since July 2006, serving in the Diocese of Norwich in Connecticut. He has served as Parochial Vicar of St. Matthew Parish in Tolland and as Administrator of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Preston.
